Exploring Potential - Diversifying your assessment practice

Come and find out more about diversifying your assessment and feedback practices at our lunchtime workshop.

This workshop, part of the Leading the Enhancement of Assessment Practices (LEAP) project, will comprise a number of colleagues from across the University giving a series of presentations highlighting the different approaches they have taken. This will be followed by a market place event where you can explore some of the tools and technologies available to support you in enhancing assessment practices.

Presentations will cover Rubrics, Group Work, Using Quizzes and e-Portfolios and Peer Marking while the market place will highlight uses for a range of tools including:

  • Mahara e-portfolio tool
  • Rubrics in Moodle
  • Grademark and Turnitin
  • Online digital presentations
  • The Moodle workshop
  • Using the quiz tool
  • Using mobile devices for assessment and feedback
  • Group work activities
  • Assessment criteria

The LEAP project is led by Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou, Head of e-Learning, Learning & Teaching Enhancement Office (LTEO).

'Taking the LEAP' - Call for participation

Departments and the School are invited to express their interest in taking part in the LEAP project. This is an opportunity to review and enhance assessment practices across an entire department and not just within the confines of a single unit. If you would like to take part in this project in the 2012/13 academic year, please download and complete the 'Taking the LEAP' form and return it to Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou by Friday 26th October.





ULTQC approves the LEAP project

The University of Bath's Learning, Teaching and Quality Committee, held on 10 July 2012, considered and approved the proposal to launch a three year project in order to enhance assessment and feedback practices across all its programmes. The 'Leading the Enhancement of Assessment Practices' (LEAP) project will take a developmental, programme-wide approach to reviewing existing practices, diversifying assessment methods and considering the use of appropriate learning technologies so as to enhance the student learning experience. The project is due to commence in October 2012. Further information is available from Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou, Head of e-Learning and LEAP Project Leader.
